I will be accepting a new job position at the department of Physics and Astronomy at the University of Iowa. I'll be managing Linux-based servers for these crazy-smart scientists. Spaaaaaaace Scieeeeeeence!

So, last night there was a fire in the building where I work, on the fourth floor in an electrical closet. This has resulted in the shutdown of the hotel where the fire spread smoke and water damage, right before a home game weekend. And while I don't care about the Hawks, that is precious revenue that we can't afford to lose.

So far, in one year, we've had a) a flood forcing us to evacuate, b) a roof-leak that flooded our server room forcing a clean-out, and c) a fire. Next up: Locusts!
